What is STCW course?
STCW stands for the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.
It is regulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and was originally adopted in 1978, with the most recent updates made in 2010 (known as the Manila Amendments).
It sets global standards for the training, certification, and watchkeeping of seafarers to ensure safety at sea and protect the marine environment.
In addition to meeting minimum training standards, all seafarers must hold valid certificates from recognized authorities indicating their qualifications to perform specific tasks onboard.
These standards cover personal survival techniques; fire prevention and firefighting; medical first aid; maritime security awareness; communication; leadership; teamwork & human behavior.

How many attempts can be given for exit exam for a course?
Candidates are provided with a maximum of three attempts to successfully pass the exam.
Each attempt gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the course material.
However, if a candidate is unable to pass after all three attempts, they will be required to retake the entire course from the beginning.
This process ensures that candidates thoroughly review and grasp the content before attempting the exam again.
