Placement:- Placement Shown on the great eastern website is false. Companies don’t come for placement and their ties with other major recruiting companies has also broken. They just give hope that companies will come. They don’t give chance to every cadet to showcase their skills. Here matters is pure luck. No criteria for placement. Management is very worst especially the placement coordinator because they don’t care.
Waiting Period:- Waiting period for rank 1 is expected 1year and can be more and for last rank is 1.5 years.
Training & Wellbeing:- Very strict institute. They see graduates as childrens. Stress for studies is similar as compared to IIT. Only students who are good in mugging up without understanding the concepts are given good marks in exams. Machineries are old in workshop. Viva questions are like never thought to the students. More focused on theory rather than practical training

Placement:- Talking mainly in context with GME placements are almost nil companies are not coming and college is just intaking cadets without any concern for their career but money making. Simply overcrowding without any management Check the placement records and you\'ll find out how bad the condition is that they cover by saying you are GESCO reserved. Please don\'t fall for this trap
Waiting Period:- Cadets after passing out have to wait for massive durations that can go upto 12 or possibly more months for the first sail itself and these people are tricking more by giving you 6 month ship contract that required 10 months so that you have to wait again for another 4-6 months to complete your cadetship. The average time taken by a cadet to just complete his cadetship altogether is about 3 years. Please don\'t risk your career by joining this institute. Get insights from the cadets itself you\'ll come to know how severe the situation is.
Training & Wellbeing:- Lab machinaries are very old and out dated and are conducted in a crowded way. Exams are made intentionally tough and cadets are failed in order to cover the waiting period blame onto cadets. And for re exams are said to appear after 2-3 months wasting their precious time in career. And these exams are not even aligned to MEO exams so that you will be prepared but to their own liking and mood. Very high ego issues and abuse of power. Shore leaves are only 3 hours with terms and conditions (please ask cadets the condition) and they have this oral exam after half course where they only pass 5-10 cadets and cut off shore leaves of everyone else. All these things are mentally straining and not at all helpful for cadets mental health. Your opinions won\'t be acknowledged so please as a fellow young mariner I don\'t want you all to fall into this trap

Placement:- placement is poor. Ones who passed the exam by byhearting everything got placed easily. Meethe\'s who studied day and night are being more meethe\'s at home.
