Placement:- Placements are going on very well. Our seniors got more than 90% placements , rest 10% were tha cadets who were interested in higher studies. I must say IMU chennai is doing great when it comes to placements. Also the company visiting the campus are top notch with high reputation in the market. Companies like Torm tankers, fleet management, Stena, dockndale, MOL , PIL , 7 islands, Andromeda, MSI and many more visit for campus recruitment .
Waiting Period:- Waiting period depends on company to company. But usually ask the cadets get onboard within 2 to 3 months of the course completion.
Training & Wellbeing:- Training and well-being is good. But definitely needs improvement.

Placement:- IMU Chennai erstwhile National Maritime Academy Chennai, have a very excellent record of placement. Till now only two batch has been passed out till 2023 with 90% placement for BTech Marine Engineering. Rest 10% are those who willingly want to purse higher studies. Management is doing great to its full extent as I feel. SMET IMUCC is very young and surely gives a environment to maturely nourish the Cadets mindset to tackle all the difficulties find out onboard. I think it's a best young Maritime training Institute for future passing out Cadet officers.
Waiting Period:- It Purely depends upon companies berth allocation strategies. For this Campus can't do anything.
Training & Wellbeing:- Being an Central University which is very proud in itself. Especially, For BTech Marine Engineering they provided fully facilitated Hostel, Academic Building and a most beneficial outcoming part for Cadets pursuing Pre-Sea training is "Marine engineering Workshop" which is unique in itself. According to me, It is world's biggest Marine Engineering workshop with advanced machineries placed for training purpose. Next most essential part for training for Cadets in this campus is Simulator Lab. It is world class facilated Simulator lab believe me it made my mind how a ship can react for each conditions. All Hostels for BTech Marine Engineering Cadets are newly built and have all facilities. One room is allocated to only 2 person and room too is quite spacious. As SMET IMU Chennai is situated in Headquarter premises which is 300 acre area. It is too greenery campus full of trees excellent roads. Here I have learnt a very deep thing Patience. I Deely thank to SMET IMU Chennai.
