6:- How to Apply for Assessment at MMD for MEO Class 1

Here’s a guide on how to apply for assessment at the Maritime Mercantile Department (MMD) for your MEO Class 1 Certificate of Competency (COC) exam:

Step 1: Log on to the DG Shipping website.

Step 2: Click on E-governance

Step 3: Log in using your ID and password

Step 4: Go to Update seafarer’s profile and update all details

Step 5: Click on the Examination tab

Step 6: Click on Application for Eligibility Assessment and fill up the entire form.

Step 7: Make sure the seafarer’s profile is updated before proceeding with the application.

Step 8: After completion of the application Click on the displayed link to upload the documents

Step 9: Pay Assessment fees by clicking on the link displayed

1. Assessment Review (7-15 Days):

• After paying the assessment fee, wait for 7 to 15 days for the assessment to be reviewed.

2. Document Verification at MMD:

• Visit the Maritime Mercantile Department (MMD) for document verification.

3. Seat Booking and Fee Submission:

• Once your documents are verified, you can book your exam seat and submit the fees using the same website.
• DG Shipping will notify you in advance about seat booking dates.

10:- MEO Class 1 Oral Exam Syllabus

The oral exams will focus on the theoretical aspects of the Engineering Management Course syllabus.

11:- MEO Class 1 Exam Pattern

11.1:- Written Exam Pattern:

11.2:- MEO Class 1 Passing Marks/Percentage:

• Passing percentage is 50%.
• 3-hour written paper of 200 marks on Engineering Management

11.3:- MEO Class 1 Oral Exam (Orals):

• The orals will be based on the theoretical aspect of the syllabus of the Engineering Management Course with 60% as a passing percentage.
