  • GME is a 8 months Pre-Sea Training course i.e. Graduate Marine Engineer followed with 10 months Structured Shipboard Training on board our vessels, sailing 4 months as Trainee Marine Engineer & 6 months as Junior Engineer.
  • Thereafter, candidates do 4 months various Advanced Courses and appear for MEO Class-IV Examination.
  • Seven Islands Maritime Training Institute (SIMTI) is a maritime training institute promoted by Seven Islands Shipping Limited (SISL) – India’s second-largest shipping company in the private sector.
  • The company fleet consists of 19 oil product tankers, 3 crude oil tankers, and 2 LPG carriers.

Placement:- placement is good in this institude.they are passionate for inviting more and more compnies

Waiting Period:- 3-4 months

Training & Wellbeing:- worst internal managment i had ever saw in my life.teaching faculty and workshop faulty is good.even after paying 6.5 lac they didnt provide washing machine, cadets have to wash their cloths.food quality is worst even after regular complaints they are not able to give quality food. if you ask any ex SIMTI cadet they will tell you same thing.food poising cases are there.Food seving staff is also rude. anything happing good in college college management immediatly change that.they are taking 6.5 lac fees which is completly useless.

Placement:- very poor placement system...they dont bither about the placements....our batch is suffering from that only....they are more interested infees only by making additional batches...for them no company even the partner company seaspan denies for that batch cadets.....

Waiting Period:- 3-4 months

Registration Process

How To Apply

    1. Click on the Apply Now button, fill up the Application Form and pay the application fees.
    2. On completion of the first step successfully, you will receive a link over e-mail for an Online Examination from our Professional Agency. The login details, as well as other instructions, shall be provided in the e-mail. Please make sure you provide the correct credentials (e-mail and phone number) at the time of filling the Application Form.
    3. If you clear our online test, you will be called for a Personal Interview in our Mumbai office. The details of the venue will be sent in the e-mail.
    4. On Selection in the Personal Interview, you shall undergo a Medical Test with the Company-appointed Doctor.
    5. A merit list shall be displayed on the Institute Website taking into account results/score of past Academic records, Online Test, Interview as well as Medical Examination “Status Fit”.
    6. The candidates who make it to the Merit List shall be asked to pay a booking amount towards Admission & Orientation Fees to book their seats.
    7. After receiving the booking amount, the candidates will be issued an Admission/Sponsorship Letters along with DG approval.
    8. The candidates shall receive by email the Joining/Standing instructions as well as other documents in the form of Undertakings/Declarations.
    9. The admitted candidates have to report on the morning of commencement date of the course at SIMTI.

NOTE:

  • SIMTI reserves the right to modify the “Selection Procedure” and/or prepone /postpone the schedule of batch(es) at its discretion.

Graduate Marine Engineering Course Eligibility

Education Qualification:

  1. BE / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering or BE/B Tech in marine engineering (non DGS approved) with minimum marks of 60% in final year.
  2. Candiates who haev degree in all Naval Architecture streams e.g. Naval  architecture and Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship building, etc. However, the word “Naval Architecture” should be first indicating the Naval Architecture is the core and the second subject is the elective.
  3. The candidate must have secured minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.

Note:

  1. The BE / B. Tech degree or any other higher degree such as 5 year integrated M.E. / M. Tech degree must have been obtained from AICTE approved institute or the llT’s or from University Engineering Colleges (Colleges directly run by University).
  2. These Candidates are exempted from appearing in all subjects of part ‘A’ of both MEO Class – lV and MEO Class – ll grade of examinations.
  3. A relaxation of 5% marks in English shall be granted to the candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and belong to Scheduled Tribes and who and both of whose parents were born in those islands and belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.
OR
  1. A full time BE/B Tech in all Mechanical Engineering streams e.g Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile etc However’ the word ‘, Mechanical” should be first indicating that mechanical engineering is the core and the second subject is the elective.
  2. The candidate must have secured minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard or in Degree Exam.

Note:

  1. The above BE / B.Tech degree or any other higher degree such as 5 year integrated M.E. / M. Tech degree must have been obtained from AICTE approved institute or the llT’s or from University Engineering Colleges (Colleges directly run by University).
  2. These candidates will be required to pass Part ‘A’ subjects of both MEO Class – lV and MEO Class – ll grade of examinations. These candidates may be considered for exemption from appearing in subject of Mathematics and Applied Mechanics.
  3. A relaxation of 5% marks in English shall be granted to the candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and belong to Scheduled Tribes and who and both of whose parents were born in those islands and belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.

Medical & Physical Standards

Medical & Physical Standards: Candidates should be healthy and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 2010/MS Medical rules 2000 and all its amendments as applicable to seafarers and have to undergo a Medical Examination with the Company appointed Doctor.

Age Criteria

  • The maximum age limit is 28 yrs and shall be applicable for General Category candidates.
  • The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to “scheduled Caste” (SC) / “scheduled Tribe” (ST) Category shall be relaxed by 5 years.
  • The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Non-creamy layer of “Other Backward Classes” (OBC) Category shall be relaxed by 3 Years.

  • The maximum age limit for women candidates of each category shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.
