About

  • Indian Maritime University, Navi Mumbai Campus was formerly known as the Training Ship Chanakya.
  • T.S. Chanakya is the shore based successor to the Training Ship Rajendra and the grand old lady of Indian Shipping, Training Ship Dufferin, where the training of Merchant Navy Officers in India started in the year 1927.
  • Training on T.S. Dufferin and subsequently T.S. Rajendra continued till the year 1993. After that it was replaced by shore based academy Training Ship Chanakya.
  • It is the first pre-sea training institution in India.
  • Originally, it was under the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai in the Ministry of Shipping.
  • In 2008, This campus came under Indian Maritime University.
  • In 2017, it was named as Navi Mumbai Campus.

Placement:- Placements are going very well actually. Last batch of 2023 was almost 100% placed and 2024 batch is 70-80% placed and many more companies are upcoming and surely 2024 batch will be also 100% placed soon and all the girls are placed already and 2025 batch 20+ cadets are placed already. B.Sc Nautical Science Course Eligibility –

Education Qualification after 12th

Courses :
  • B.Sc.(Nautical Science) : ELIGIBILITY(MINIMUM CRITERIA)
Age Limit:
  • Age as on the date of admission on 1st August 2017 shall be as follows:
  • (i) Minimum Age 17 years.
  • (ii) Maximum Age 25 years.
Note:
  • For Scheduled Caste (SC)& Scheduled Tribes candidates (ST).
  • Candidates maximum age relaxation is for five(5) years.
Educational Qualification:
  • A candidate must have passed (10 + 2) Examination/ equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 60% aggregate marks in PCM and with minimum of 50% in English language at 10th or 12th Standard examination.

Registration Process

How To Apply

  • The candidate is supposed to take admission in TS Chanakya first, they have to apply for IMU CET Please click on APPLY NOW button below to register for the same. After submission of the online application, the candidate will receive an email with details of the payment for the online entrance test.

After Securing good rank in IMU-CET

ONLINE COUNSELLING

Phase 1

  • All the selected candidates who have been issued with the IMU CET Rank Certificate will be provided with a portal through which they can select the Programme(s) and Campus(es) where they want to take admission.
  • Then candidates have to pay a fee of Rs10,000 as the counselling fee. If the seat is not allowed, then Rs9,000 will be refunded to the candidate. Otherwise, the fee is non-refundable.

Phase 2

  • Based on the Rank, social category of the candidate and the availability of the seat, a seat will be allotted to the candidate from the list of options provided by them.
  • Once the seat is allotted, candidates have to pay the Programme fee of Rs 15,000 to confirm the seat. Remember that this payment will be non-refundable.
